Wintry Weather Forecast

Met Office weather forecast for Peak District 9 February 2012

'A cloudy day with outbreaks of rain or snow developing. During the morning especially, rain may fall on to frozen ground, which could lead to a significant ice rink and some very challenging conditions. The rain is most likely over western parts of the Park, with snow more likely in the east. Initially any precipitation is expected to be patchy and light, and mainly in the north and west, but will become more widespread and persistent later in the day.'

Did you see it? I really thought that’s what it said when I first read it wrongly. And that’s exactly what they got. Hundreds of square miles of town and country where you could barely stand up, for days on end.
